Cumulative Update #16 for SQL Server 2017 RTM

The 16th cumulative update release for SQL Server 2017 RTM is now available for download at the Microsoft Downloads site. Please note that registration is no longer required to download Cumulative updates.

    Yes.  SQL Server Cumulative Updates (CU) releases include all previously released functional and security fixes.  Thus, SQL Server 2017 CU16 release does include the Security update for SQL Server 2017 CU15 released on July 9, 2019.

    Update: this has been answered! "The SQL Server CU update will bring your version to the latest stable release and includes fixes and security updates."

     

    Hello! I was wondering if the "security update for SQL Server 2017 CU15: July 9, 2019" is included in cumulative update 16. In general, are security updates included in the latest CU? I know that the previous CU fixes are included in the most recent, but I wasn't 100% sure about security updates! Thanks 🙂
