MicrosoftThere isn't a Rollback function Under More. I checked my Visual Studio Insiders 2026 and it does have the RollBack Capability. SThe Visual Studio Installer version 4.4.22.17440. Also, since Copilot Seems to Crash when running against SqlServer 2012, that should be Explained.
In the event that you ever need to rollback to a previous release, you can do that from the Visual Studio Installer. From the SSMS 22 entry in the VS Installer, select More > Rollback to previous version.
MicrosoftBartNSTCL If you installed SSMS 22.3 directly (and didn't update from an earlier version of 22), then you won't see "Rollback to a previous version" as an option. We do document what versions of SQL are supported by SSMS (SQL 2014 and higher) in the system requirements.
Good point. I ended up uninstalling first when Copilot was crashing trying to run against the 2014 server. While the SSMS parts support 2014, Copilot seems to not.
In the Logs I saw,
Message: Incorrect syntax near 'WITHOUT_ARRAY_WRAPPER'.
and
No method by the name 'GetFunctionsAsync' is found.
MicrosoftBartNSTCL Without any more information, such as logs, I am guessing that Copilot was trying to run a query against the database that included the WITHOUT_ARRAY_WRAPPER syntax, and that’s not supported with the FOR JSON syntax until SQL 2016.
