Hello Mark-Kashman , the News feature in Viva Connections uses US format only to show the publishing date from the post.
Why is it always so hard for Microsoft to use the existing configurations in SharePoint? It's the same with SharePoint eSignature. 
It's pretty simple: check the regional configuration from the Viva connection site collection, where the News feature is located. 

I tested the following configurations:

  • Site collection regional format
  • SharePoint User Profile language settings
  • Browser language
  • Microsoft 365 account settings (should replicate the settings to UPS)


None of that changes the format. 
Tell me, what is the source for the publishing date format of the new News overview?
