According to the article:

If you’re a partner, you can leverage our Backup and Archive APIs to build a holistic data protection and lifecycle management solution for your customer’s Microsoft 365 data along with their other data sources, all under a single pane of glass. ...

I have few questions about the API:

  • Is the Backup and Archive API available only to the 'partners'? Or it will be generally available for all developers?
  • How can we become 'partner' so that we can use the Backup and Archive APIs? Is that equivalent to join the Microsoft CAPP?
  • Is there any official documentation page about the Backup and Archive API?  We would like to know the abilities and scopes of these APIs.
  • Will the Backup API replace other existing Microsoft APIs such as Graph API, Sharepoint API and Exchange API?  If so, what would be the rolling schedule?
