You can use Power Automate to create automated workflows for Project for the web. Project for the web is built on the Microsoft Power Platform, and its data is stored in CDS (Common Data Service). You can access Project data in Power Automate through the Common Data Service connector.

We have released two new Power Automate Flow templates for Project Managers and Team Members in the Flow Template Gallery to help you be more productive with Project for the web. You can also use these templates to explore how to build more Flows with Project for the web data.

New Templates

You can leverage templates today by clicking on the link to the template and clicking “Create Flow”.

Additional Notes:

  • By default, the Environment field in the Flows are set to “Current” in the Common Data Service actions. The environment that you are in must be “Default” since Project for the web runs in the default org. If you need to update the Environment you are currently in Flow for, you can click the “Environments” button in the top right corner of the ribbon, and select “Default”
  • You will need an appropriate license to run flows in Power Automate. You can learn more about Power Automate licensing here.

Feedback

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make future product decisions. Please continue to give us your input by using the “Feedback” button in the product or UserVoice for Project for the web. We read every submission we get and try to respond as needed. Be sure to provide an email address so we can reach out to you for further information!

If you have any questions about the new templates, building Flows with Power Automate and Project for the web data, or other template ideas, please let us know in the comments!

Great work. A customer asked if this was a part of the solution on a meeting not long ago. Will be perfect to share these news with them 🙂

Thanks this looks great! problem is my company refuses to put our email in office 365 outlook. I get stuck on the failed outlook connection.

How can I see the parts of the flow so I can modify to get past the email issue. I will just try to connect it to a different app.

The beginning part looks like a good flow and I would really want to use that so I can save work.

    Best

    Jim

_Max_ this is doable - you can edit the flow to 1) in the second step, get the team member's profile instead of your own and then 2) in the last step, email that person instead of yourself.  That will only send the email to one team member, which you can duplicate into multiple flows - or you could expand the current flow to loop through all of your team members.

Thanks for sharing, I have activated it and it works correctly on my user.
Sorry, I'm newbie with Power Automate, I'd like to make it run with my userid, but send a personal email to each person in my team with their respective tasks assigned, late or upcoming.
is it possible to do it? has anyone already done this and can share it?

    Thanks.
