Happy September from the Project team! The August and September updates for Project for the web are being combined. The next monthly update will be published around Ignite in October.

Upcoming Features:

  • People View ~ See the work allocation across your team and balance workloads easily.
  • Sprints ~ Create and prioritize tasks in their backlogs, define sprints and their date boundaries, move tasks between sprints and their respective backlogs, and then build reports to include that data.
  • API Support for Editing Contours ~ Enables developers to programmatically specify a task assignee's effort across any supported date range for more granular project planning.

fernandolc , one option for baseline that I discovered yesterday is to use the Custom Column feature in the P4W projects to create a date based column. Then you can copy and past over your baseline Start Date and Finish Date columns there to create a way to track initial baselines. It isn't a prefect solution but beats not having any option at all.

You’re doing a great job providing us the roadmap. I’ve been seeing the release dates often does not match the originals, but we know that in projects nothing is easy..

There are two features that can’t be missing at this point in order to do a good control of the projects variables; baseline on P4W and (more ambitious), cost control. EV Kpis should be relatively easy to calculate and provides good indicators to help and understand what’s going on with the project.

I hope any of these features appears at the roadmap soon.

We’re using Project Accelerator and any new features will be celebrated in order to convince my company areas to join the use of this tool.

    Regards

What is the timeline for People View to be available? Can we get some additional information beyond the short descriptions provided so far? Does it all for viewing work allocations across multiple projects (what me and my organization really, really need)?

I am very interested in People view as I was planning to revert to Project for the desktop, since advanced resource planning was not available for project for the web.
I have currently started to use Buckets as sprints. To have separate feature would be very apt.
Patiently waiting for this. Thanks for the impact that you are having on our team with your awesome Project apps.
