Version 1.0Can we now mention/tag other users in comments? If not, MS Planner remains off the table, even with its fancy AI features.
For premium plans in the new Planner, you're able to create a Teams channel conversation for each task, stored in the channel where the premium plan is pinned. Inside Teams, you can open these conversations inside the premium plan tab alongside the task details and have a full Teams conversation with rich content and mentions (which will notify the user in the Teams activity feed) in the task.
We explain the above capability in more detail here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/use-the-project-or-roadmap-app-in-teams-2dc584e6-2f6c-4e2d-9008-0b3f6845eb52#bkmk_addteamsconversationstoprojecttasks
For basic plans, we don't have the ability to do mentions in comments yet, but we're aware this is a top feature ask and is one users tell us is core to collaboration. We're working on bringing an improved task commenting experience to Planner, but aren't ready to announce anything yet.
Respectfully, the user experience for using Teams in Premium Planner to allow at mentions is not ideal. It seems to create extra noise in the main channel and requires multiple clicks before you can get to the conversation.
Are there any plans to enhance upon this to allow for the task conversation to be visible within planner vs re-navigating the user to the posts section of the Team?
