Version 1.0Is there a way in premium to attach files and make comments without attaching to a team? As that seems to be to only way for a premium plan.
Also if I want to add a guest to the premium plan it means I need to give them access to the whole team with this set up which is not helpful as we want guests to be part of the planner but not see all of stuff in the team. Basic planner allows guests without this so its frustrating that its not in premium planner.
JamesPhImp thank you sharing your feedback. To address your two questions: 1) Confirming that today, attaching files to tasks in a plan can be done once you share the plan with a group\team. Would be great to learn more about your scenarios and how Planner can be improved to meet the need 2) For both basic plans and premium plans, the only way today to give guests access to the plan is by adding them to the Microsoft 365 group the plan is shared with. It would be great if you can share more details on scenarios in your organization where you need more control on the access and curious what is the different experience you're seeing in basic plan that works to meet this need. Thanks again for sharing your feedback.
AnavSilvermanthanks for the reply. I wasn't aware adding to a group allows file attachments that is somewhat helpful. However it still doesn't seem to allow comments unless added to a team, whereas basic planner does?
Basically we have a large project, that we have set up a team for and we are involving a third party. We want the third party to have access to the planner but not the team itself as we want to save files and email flow that may not involve them. We could use group as you suggest but this doesn't allow them to make comments on the tasks which is important.
I thought of using a private channel but planner only allows linking to the full group not just private channel. Thanks
AnavSilverman In our case we may have task that need to be assigned outside of the M365 group for an employee who does not have full visibility into the entire plan. All we need them to be able to do is to comment on the task, mark it completed and see it within their My Tasks view pane. There was an open feature request on this.
