The following functionality would be extremely helpful for project managers.
I also use the MS Project, but I am a strong believer that Planner could become a much better tool than MS Project.
1. Allow to have both Nots and Checklist Items on Board Tasks,
2. Add Gantt charts for the entire Board and for tasks inside Buckets.
Note:
It is understood that big projects require one team per project. But the majority of people are using the Planner to organize their activities and projects. And we all work on multiple projects and would like to have a visibility of projects in one place. This is where Buckets are usually used as individual projects. So, the Gantt Charts for individual buckets would really help.
3. Allow exporting of Schedule, Completed and Future Tasks to a pdf or any other file that can be used as a reporting document. Allow choosing the Tasks and Buckets to export. People are usually producing multiple reports for different parties, and it is useful to focus the report on certain activities.
4. In the List, allow moving the columns,
5. In the List, allow sorting / filtering in columns,
6. In the list, BUG, cannot change the width of all columns. Currently, cannot change the width of Priority and Due Date.
7. In Charts, allow hiding / showing tasks from different buckets. Just have a list of Buckets with check boxes. Only checked Buckets to appear on the Chart.
This would help focusing the presentation of the Chart and to be very project specific.
8. Allow adding more custom data to tasks and buckets like cost, budget, etc. Anything that could help tracking the budget would be super helpful. For example, allow extracting the cost of completed tasks (jobs) form the bucket's budget. Show the remaining budget.
