These improvements are sorely needed, and 5 or more years too late! But thank you all the same.
Hopefully Planner premium is at a much lower rate per user than Project. Very few of us need the capabilities of Project. (Yes, it is awesome when you need the features, and it is used well).
If Planner premium is only USD $2 or $3/user/month or there abouts it will sell out.. if USD$6/month or more, unfortunately your competitors are better value for money and deliver a less stressful life.
Why: Sadly, there is still not enough capacity on the horizon for time planning. Planner premium will help, but after watching this presentation I can see it is not a full solution and way short of the competition.
These features seem still short of the mark. Total task duration, No subtask duration, No duration score, no good way to usefully plan 'TIME' looking forwards, there is no simple way to put tasks from Planner & from "My Day" task choices into a time block calendar day plan, week plan or month plan. (Not without hours of work double entering & double tracking tasks in outlook calendar)
So I guess it is going to be better, but I feel disappointed in my gut, that Microsoft will once again release another incomplete, complex, low-quality product....... I'd love to be 100% wrong about my gut feelings.
