Trello has already been mentioned here, and I also use it. I would like at least for you to avoid limiting checklists to 20 items in Planner and not restrict the number of characters in these checklists. I have sent feedback to Planner regarding these features three times, but there has been no response. It's strange because a paid product should not be worse than a free one.
