Orchestrating human-AI collaboration in Microsoft Planner
Hi TexmexDaddy It is a premium feature and applies to premium plans - so requires a Planner Plan 3 or 5 license.
Thanks Brian - Is there somewhere either in this video or other documentation that explicitly states this? I've just not seen anything anywhere that actually states what the prereqs are. And technically, Planner Plan 1 is a premium plan. That's documented in several places. Like here for example: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/microsoft-planner-premium-vs-basic-whats-difference-projectmadeeasy-ae32c#:~:text=Basic%3A%20Included%20in%20Office%20365,costing%2C%20and%20Copilot%20in%20Planner. HowardCrow can you shed any light on this question?

Correct that Plan 1 can create premium plans, but there are various levels of 'premium' features too. The only place I can find it (and you are right, neither this video or other Planner blogs seem to mention this), is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/planner/microsoft-planner-plans-and-pricing where Plan 3 includes Microsoft 365 Copilot in Planner (preview). It also mentions "While final pricing for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Planner has not been announced, users with a Planner and Project Plan 3 or Planner and Project Plan 5 license will be able to preview Microsoft 365 Copilot in Planner capabilities once it is rolled out to their organization."

I have Copilot in my Planner environment. I'm looking at the icon in my Planner view as we speak. So unfortunately, it just adds to my confusion.

I'd suggest opening a support case then. Are you in Teams? I just took a look at my own tenant, and I don't have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, but I do have a trail Plan 3 - and like you I see the Copilot icon in my premium plans view, but don't get the "Create a new Plan with Project Manager" when I say new plan. Support should be able to clarify this for you.

I should have also mentioned that the names in there are out of date - Project Plan 3/5 is now Planner Plan 3/5.

Interestingly it showed up in my Planner (Teams) environment yesterday, but it does not show up in my regular Planner environment. The demo here also shows the Teams environment, but odd that it does not show up the main Planner environment. If I create a plan using the agent option in the Teams Planner, that plan does show up in the main Planner environment, but creating one there to begin with is not an option I am seeing at this point. I know from the demo that to use this feature it must be attached to a group, so perhaps that is why it has to be created from with the Team environment.
