And still, as a user, you are not able to do basic PM stuff with Planner Premium. Such as:
- Sorting columns in grid view
- Group tasks in Grid view
- Make bulk changes to fields
- Easy to move a task from one project to another
- Easy move one project from one team to another
- Extensive custom fields library (multi-select, people fields, more choices)
- Recurring fields in Planner Premium
- Ability to remove default fields
- Seemlessly move tasks from 1 project to another
- Mentions in comments and task descriptions
- Advance task descriptions with image upload enabled
- Comments on the task are a joke. Why do I have to move to Teams to comment on a task that nobody in my team can figure out how to do?
- Make it easy to move a task from a basic plan to a premium plan
- Portfolio / cross-plan dashboards
- Same tasks are visible in multiple plans
- More powerful automation/workflow rules: custom triggers, actions, and approvals.
- Easy access to projects from the My tasks view
- Ability to edit tasks from the My Tasks view
I've asked the new and fancy AI Project Manager Agent, who was very helpful and suggested exporting to Excel to access all these features, which is great. If you don't understand, I'm being ironic here. I find it absurd that I'm told to export to Excel to access these extremely basic features that are essential for any project management or task management digital tool. There are so many limitations with Planner and Planner Premium that make it very difficult to use and ultimately deploy effectively to the team.
The only reason I'm still using Planner and Planner Premium is that my workplace doesn't allow other applications. This is also why I keep posting here, hoping that MS will someday pause fancy AI development that currently offers no real value and instead focus on fixing the basics.
