Dear Howard,
Microsoft over the last 15 years has been selling half-baked products, which breaks every rule a company should follow to create reliable products that last for 30–40 years (like Windows, Microsoft Office, Teams/Outlook). And since we are waiting years for this consolidation to happen, you are still focused on releasing half-baked products. It's like a skyscraper, where every floor has its own shape and form — I don’t think that building will survive over time. You just released Microsoft Loop and integrated it everywhere, and one year later you create Notebooks in Copilot, instead of integrating Loop and making it a great product, which it already is, with a bit of effort.
And then there are Portfolios — not a single feature in 2 years! Portfolios should already be integrated into Planner’s connector so that they can be used in Canvas PowerApps, PowerPlatform giving users a powerful solution everywhere.
I just hope you will finally consolidate Planner, because there is real potential. But for that, it should have a single consolidated backend, with Portfolios and multi-project support, where users can connect tasks from multiple subprojects.
