Due to non-consolidated and messy project / task management in terms of the O365 tools, we have moved ayway to Monday. Myself being fan of O365, I am further watching MS attempts to improve the situation, hence I am eagerly awaiting the merge of Planner and Project for the web. However, there are some "but"s:
- When looking into the Project task card, it is a pure minimum. We want to have Planner like card, with displayed note or checklist or image etc.
- Grid View - the tree you can make, does not necessarily reflex your bucket / sprint structure, can be confusing.
- Grid View - I wish there was a separation possible between the root elements - see how pleasant Monday is - you can make screenshot right away for your presentation, whereas Project looks like a little bit more enhanced Excel 😞
- Project portfolio - we were thining of using one Project file for the multiple of projects. But then Goals can't be set to particular project. There is no means of project in terms of one Project file. Maybe a custom field.
- So - having projects separated each to its own file - how should we show / display a consolidated state? Monday allows you to consolidate project boards to one central board. Maybe Roadmap could be used, but it lack some features and is lotss of manual work.
- MS Project simply does not allow to display department / company wide consolidated view of multiple projects, or does it? And no - exporting to PBI is not the way, sorry.
