Sean_Cedar Looking over a number of release pages I am beginning to think that this application will act like Teams does to SharePoint.
Teams is a layer that sits on SharePoint.
The new lists is a layer that sits on top of SharePoint Lists.
Now the Tasks for Teams app is a layer that sits on top of planner and todo and is baked into teams.
I looked at SharePoint years ago while I was a Box user. Now that Microsoft is building its UI and packaging everything together it will make it easier for people with all levels of experiences to use the eco-system. I am now fully adopted from Box to SharePoint.

Just like secure private channels was an after thought for Teams, I am going to assume that My Day and recurring tasks will make its way into Tasks for teams, but not right now.
Teams is about teams. However, that being said, I have no access to the new tasks view at the moment.
