This was definitely a BAD IDEA... there is a LOT of lost real estate on the left side along the window now... made totally useless on the left side margin...!!!
I had it previously set as SMALL ICON on the navigation pane... to reduce the amount of pixel real estate it used.
If there was a collapse feature for that side bar navigation menu, there would not be an issue... but the fact it is PARKED there is ridiculous....
WHO are these folks now working at Microsoft? Totally Unintelligent buffoons it seems. Must be former tide pod eaters or something! (But that is my thought)
Testing out the New Outlook Preview button located upper right.
The New Outlook basically looks like a tablet browser app window opened up on a PC Desktop.
Plus side, now see BLACK (DARK) background for emails where it was white... (Outlook 2016 does not have the Black Theme like Office 365 does)
In that respect, very happy to find this comment page opened when my Outlook updated to this new format yesterday.
Interesting that the update was from last year!!!
After clicking Preview New Outlook, my locally installed Outlook icon opens the new version only. Thus unable to open both Old and New side by side.
Down side with New version is, PST files have not been incorporated yet. To view my old PST files, need to revert back to Old Outlook. (Turn off New preview)
Maybe once they tap into local PST files, I will like this New Outlook better; however, I STILL rather see the left navigation bar be an option to slide out from the left... so as to regain window real estate.
New Version does not have the calendar and Task items peek on the right. This is a must have option in order to convert over to using the New Outlook.
Some interesting option changes on the Ribbon, from Classic to Simplified. Density...
The control over which mail account you are creating to send from didn't work right away. And I do not see my personal domain email account listed as an option either... this is a must have before using the new version. The Outlook mobile app has that ability already.
This is preliminary quick review on what I could find right away... I am sure there are other nuances and changes to find and comment on... will need to address that later.
