The reason there are only 'a few hundred negative comments' is because not everyone knows of this Forum and/or not vocal enough to want to Post to this Forum.
The fact that there are a 'few hundred negative comments' coupled with the rapidity which these negative comments are being posted should be indicative to Microsoft that there are a large number of users who do not want this needless change to Outlook. But regardless of how many Users are upset with this change Microsoft does what it wants to do not what the User Community wants.
When I became aware of this upcoming change I sent multiple negative feedback to Microsoft through their Outlook feedback function. Most likely many Users never availed themselves of this Feedback option in Outlook. Still Microsoft is going to do what it wants to do and not what their Users want unless their users stop using Outlook and perhaps therefore all of Microsoft 365 which will hurt Microsoft only where Microsoft cares about and that is Microsoft's bottom line, Microsoft's Refenue/Profits.
