You obviously haven't used Outlook for many years. Those of us who have, have developed particular styles in how we use Outlook such as being able to just move our mouse cursor quickly to near the upper left corner to either click on File or New Email and now with this awful new change (which was unnecessary) the location of these functions are not the same place as before and it is not as quick and convenient to get to these locations.
These icons many years before used to actually have the word designations for the icons such as Contacts or Calendar but they were in basically the same location and did not add a new column on the left side of the screen as this new change does.
As stated this change was totally unnecessary. We aren't necessarily saying go back to the old location. But many of us are suggesting just give us the option to have the old location if we want it.
Microsoft needs to stop dictating to us what it thinks we want. Just because you like it doesn't mean it is right or desirable for others who have found the old location more desirable than the new location.
This is not a feature that many of us need or want and it does have undesirable consequences such as less screen space for email message list.
