Did I mention the feedback has resulted in at least one change? Once version 2210 releases, you can make the Folder pane even narrower than before, allowing you to redistribute some of the horizontal space to the Message List and/or Reading Pane.
Still not good enough. First, the developers are now sacrificing the "Folder pane", a long-existing and useful part of Outlook, to make up for the horrible and NEW placement of the "modules pane" that no one wants. Second, it does not change the fact that the much of that "modules pane" will be unoccupied since traditional and productivity-oriented users of Outlook will likely not populate the "modules pane" to the extent the developers imagined. Lastly, the location of the core modules, such as Mail, Calendar and Tasks is way up at the top and not close to the Windows taskbar (or Mac dock) where a user's mouse pointer is likely to be much of the time. Think about it, where's your mouse pointer most of the time when you're switching between windows/programs?
Please give users the choice to revert to the original location, and please fire the people responsible for this change.
PS: For those interested, the Registry Editor trick works great, for now, and is easy to implement. Hopefully future updates do not overwrite the registry.
