Kudos to Claudia_K. / ClaudiaBerlin for posting the fix on 9/16/22 and again on 10/6/22 at 02:26AM (MT) ... as follows:
Unfortunately dash there is only a regedit change: but I hope that MS listens and gives us an option to choose within outlook and revert back easily for everyone.
- Open regedit: In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit, the select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results.
- Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ofcice\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\Overrides\ OR HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ofcice\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\Overrides\Microsoft.Office.Outllok.Hub.HubBar
- If this string “Microsoft.Office.Outllok.Hub.HubBar” does not exist, create it by right clicking on Overrides in the left pane and selecting New->String Value
- Paste “Microsoft.Office.Outllok.Hub.HubBar” in the new entry that appears in the right pane
- Double-click the new name
- Enter “False” in the Value data field.
- Click OK
- Close and restart Outlook
