The Government contract is already on Amazon Cloud. Secure connections and everything backed up. Microsoft was very upset about losing that contract that is why their collaborating with Google. As far as kids go, school districts have been using Office 365 or some other cloud base Office suite now. Office365 and G-suite are literally given away to school districts. Old Office 2013 expired and Office 2016 would have expired but the Office 365 license was allowed to be ported (technically running hybrid on the cloud). Office 2019 is cloud. You cannot have a current Office that is not cloud based. That is true for G-suite and Adobe indesign which are all cloud base. OneDrive synchronizes all local files which technically is SharePoint in the cloud. Outlook/Exchange is all cloud based. Yes, these cloud services allow you to download applets of each program but don't mistake them as truly local applications. You have to be subscribe to the cloud license which gives you access to Office 365. What I am saying that at this point, all these applets will be merged onto Teams Frame work. As you see, Office is already setup to do so. They're just doing increments. I will bet donuts that Microsoft eventually will port Windows on an OS like Android OS. Microsoft already ported Edge onto Chrome. Edge is running on top of Chrome. Google has cloud expertise and great development tools. Microsoft has the best Enterprise Software. A perfect partnership.
