Not only is this change a "gotcha" reminder that MSFT has the power to do whatever they deem is an improvement and/or enhancement, but is is a "one-way" irreversible change that calls for any workarounds that might satisfy a user. I tried to simply rearrange the order of Icons (I wanted the Mail Icon at the bottom, and the Calendar Icon directly above it) as my primary use of Outlook is scheduling interview appointments for new-hire wanna-bees. My efforts failed, despite the misleading offer at Outlook Options|Advanced|Outlook Panes|Navigation. Just another Dead End with no effective shifting of Icons on the Navigation Bar. By now, MSFT should have the general message of their "audience": Give us a way back, a means to CHOOSE what view we prefer. As an aside, it appears to me that all the additional Icons offered for the Nav Bar might just as conveniently be placed on the main TaskBar at the bottom of the screen. All this being said, I appreciate Microsoft's contribution to the workplace. Keep up the good work, and listen to your users. That's how you'll keep us in the "family."
