Gabe_Bratton I think you guys are on the right course. Ever since Office-365 based Exchange service was launched, it very much seems that there has been a conscious or unconscious assumption within Outlook's code, that 100% of Outlook users, use Office-365 based Exchange servers for their email accounts. In those many years now, that assumption has resulted in *multiple* different Outlook problems cropping up Some of those things have been more benign/nuisances, while others have prevented Outlook from working at all! I remember one example a few months ago, where briefly Outlook's auto-discover wouldn't work at all for such Intermedia customers, without a discovered registry edit, because of an update to Outlook that contained a significant flare-up of that assumption. Another related issue? I have never once received an email notification from this very thread (despite that option always being enabled), and I believe that is also because Microsoft's email servers just assume that my Microsoft account's email address is using a 365-based Exchange server, so it sends such notifications to that "internal" Exchange mailbox address (which doesn't actually exist), and never attempts to send such notification emails externally.
mwhalenhtc Forgive me if *I* am wrong, but I think you (as am I) are *exactly* the configuration that Gabe Bratton mentioned above. Specifically, I believe both your and my Microsoft Accounts are configured with the *same* email address that we do *not* use on/with a 365-based Exchange server (we happen to both use Intermedia's hosted Exchange servers instead).....and thus the problem that Gabe is suggesting.
Also, most of my client base (as a Microsoft Partner / freelance computer technican) has this same configuration. Therefore, since I fall into that configuration in question Gabe, please let me know how I can help further. Thank you!!!
