Hi
Sadly you are like literally millions of outlook users experiencing the astonishingly bad outlook (NEW). Nearly all the good, well developed functions of the outlook desktop have disappeared. No discussion with actual users, just coders and internal geeks playing with a system which businesses rely on and creating damage, brand impact and costing businesses to try and get back what they had.
I have now turned off the (NEW) outlook and use the OIS/Android and desktop PC version. Each allow you to do what you want.
It seems Microsoft HJave lost control of their quality assurance and compliance with SaaS, PaaS etc and certainly I would be amazed if they are truly compliant with ISO 27001/2 as revised. Sure their audits will show they are though.
The other major issues which will m affect you are in relation to any IMAP domain emails you are trying to use. You will be unable to save, move, copy etc between accounts or into an outlook onedrive folder. You will also only be able ti used the contacts you crate within the person/contact side of outlook and not from your imap email accounts.
I cannot beleive the damage Microsoft have done and continue to allow to be done to their product in the name of cloud storage in preparation for the annual subscription service which will include the Windows operating system and related software which will see increase in costs and ensure they keep de custoemrs due to the integration they have to them.
There are literally dozens of forums threads within this tech community discussing the same issue and not being connected to each other (AI would do that’s - Copilot!!). But they don’t want to. They don't want to see the massive volume of disgruntled customers spending hours of their precious time trying to work it why suspects of outlook (NEW) aren’t working.
I do not know the answer, clearly don’t have a level of influence to change what they are doing and seems now regulatory body would want to challenge them. So we are stuck with it. Either you make a decision to move to Apple, Google or Amazon and probably experience the same or stay with what you know. Whatever, we are trapped in the tech we need to the owners who dictate the terms.
This is meant as a positive and truthful response, not an embittered or any Microsoft rant. I use both MS and Apple for different things, neither are perfect or likely to be.
