Brian Tillman This list is, in a large part, acknowledging how we are bringing forward favorite features from the classic Outlook for Windows app. The new Outlook is the way we are bringing the Outlook codebase forward for greater serviceability and stability in the future. For a long time, we have heard loud and clear that it is painful for individuals and organizations when every different version of Outlook has different capabilities and even when the same features exist they may be designed differently. Many popularly requested features and changes have been able to make it into the Outlook for the Web experience long before we can bring them to the much older codebase in the classic Outlook for Windows. By bringing forward the most important features from classic Outlook for Windows into the same codebase that the Outlook for Web also uses, we aim to solve that. We recognize that creating a new Outlook app is an unintuitive step toward having a better "One Outlook" experience, but it is a part of that bigger journey. Going forward, we expect to be able to deliver the best of Outlook for everyone on Windows (web or client) in this one experience and deliver fixes and improvements faster to everyone.
