Outlook Team , if you want a clear idea why these changes are objectively worse, look no further than the last picture comparison euburrag posted about "meetings and appointments." Look how much space is now being wasted in the header (before the body text space begins) than before. The ribbon was FULLY EXTENDED in the previous version and STILL takes up less header space than the "simplified" version on the right with the ribbon minimized. How on earth did this escape scrutiny before being rolled out? The new version looks like someone accidentally tripped over their keyboard: throwing icons out of alignment, adding random white-space, and deleting text boxes. The font didn't even change size to scale! It looks like my computer is glitched, rather than a thought-out software revision.
This is not even just an Outlook problem, but a modern software design problem in general. Icons are increasingly huge, space is increasingly wasted, and windows (and separations therein) are less able to be resized. It's patently insane that my 32" computer screen displays LESS information per window than when I was running Windows 95 on a 18". Even the comments section here feels bloated. Please, for the love of Pete, reverse your ideology of what it means to be user friendly and get to work.
