Have you ever read an email and wanted to respond quickly to the sender with an IM or call instead of email reply? When writing an email, after adding a recipient, have you opened the address book to search for his or her manager to add as Cc?

With the redesigned contact card experience, your contact's key details are now front and center, increasing productivity by reducing the distance to find contact and organization details.

Click on any name in your messages or events to access email and IM addresses, phone numbers, and other details, such as organization chart. It's now easier than ever to communicate with your contacts, including Skype for Business direct calling, IM, and video calling. With organization details now in the contact card, you can quickly get a birds-eye view of your team organization with easy navigation within the card.

The new contact card is available in Insider Fast starting in version 16.11 (180214) and requires activation via Office 365 subscription

View the new card from the contact photo or contact name, using either mouse click or space bar key:

We would love to hear from you as we make improvements in Insider Fast, so please provide feedback and report issues via Help > Contact Support. If you would like to see other enhancements in Outlook for Mac, please vote for your feature request via Help > Suggest a Feature

Known issues:

  • Contact photo in the new card may differ from the photo in the message or event
  • The new card doesn't have alias or local phone number fields seen in the old card
  • The old card is showing for distribution lists
  • The new card is not supported for macOS Yosemite (verison 10.10)

I love that new approach of Improving People in Outlook for Mac, there is just one issue I notice.

You assumed that the SIP address used with Skype is the e-mail address.

That's usually true ... but not always. and if it's not .. the IM part is not working..

  • Hi Marc Nahum. Skype for Business should be using the SIP address and not the email address. Are you having an issue where IM isn't working for you? If so, please contact us within Outlook via Help > Contact Support as we want to hear more about your configuration.

    Thanks

    Jeff

Did this feature ship in the normal release channel yet? Still cannot see it.

This was working for me but since the last couple of releases, it has reverted to the old-style card :(

  • David Cooper This feature is still holding in Insider Fast while we continue to monitor feedback, iterate on design, and finish up on some related tasks required for Production release. We'll let you know when it moves to Insider Slow and then Production.

Som Shahapurkar We did have an issue requiring us to disable the card in a recent Insider Fast update. Please update to the latest (16.18) and the new card should be back. If you're still seeing the old card, please message us via Help > Contact Support.

Thanks for trying the updated contact card!

Jeffrey_Kalvass I can see on the last official release and the last insider fast that there is new version ... in that one the SIP address is wrong ... you are confusing SIP vs e-mail (that was correct on previous fast version) and you don't display the e-mail & sip anymore ... that's mean we cannot easily copy/past it ... that was really useful. really hope you can at least fix the SIP bug asap...
