I subscribe to MS365Family, so have the "latest" Outlook client build on my PC.
I use POP email accounts on PC. Use the apple mail app on iPad and iPhones.
Received email regarding depreciation of support for basic authentication. After reading the confusing "Modern Authentication Methods now needed to continue synching Outlook Email in non Microsoft email apps".... updated June10th, 2024" document., I assumed I had to remove my POP email accounts from my MS365 PC Outlook client and reinstall same accounts using the auto setup for Exchange account. This has proved to be a bit of a nightmare and I am at present unable to reinstall my wife's email account on the PC client using the auto setup.
......I am not sure if my assumption regarding the action required on my PC is/was correct.
Would appreciate if anyone could confirm or otherwise, did I have to remove my POP accounts from my PC client.....as I am now finding the above document to be ambiguous and a bit misleading. I rushed in to take action. Will the POP accounts on the latest build Microsoft 365 MSO be supported by Modern Authentication
I may try to reinstall my email accounts as POP on my PC client
The iPad/iPhone mail apps have been dealt with
Any comments would be appreciated
