I have now deployed this for a number of users and the feedback is really promising.
The search issues that users have been experiencing appear to be resolved on this new version - that's absolutely brilliant as they had been ongoing from OL 2011 to 2019.
The sync issues that users had been reporting where new email wouldn't appear in a timely fashion also seems to be resolved in this new version.
The UI is really nice and it seems fast on the Mac. Really nice job.
We do have a couple of issues that users have reported.
1) Sharing documents from Word to Outlook
When using the Share > Send Document menu option in Word our users seem to be unable to send the emails.
After clicking Send Document it will open up a new draft Outlook message window with the file attached.
The user inputs the recipient details, enters a subject and clicks to send the message.
At this point we would expect the email to be sent.
Instead, a pop-up window appears in the bottom left of the Outlook app and reads:
An unknown error has occurred in Outlook
The message is placed in the Outbox folder and does not appear to send.
If the user saves the file in Word, opens a new draft from Outlook and attaches the file manually then the message will always send.
2) Attaching files to email drafts created from an email template
When a user creates an email template, then uses this to create a new draft message, the new draft message window appears and all seems to be well.
The user can input the recipient information, subject and they're able to drag files into Outlook to attach to the email.
When the user tries to send this email they get an error message reading:
The total attachment size exceeds the 0MB limit.
If instead of using an email template the user just sends a brand new email to the user, they're able to attach files and successfully send the message.
It would be great if we could get the above two fixed.
