LOL you need a bit of a guide on how to use teams my friend. I've been using it across about 8 companies since August 2017 and never not been able to find anything. For my ideas, I think you are mistaken, I'm a technical architect and the designs I create are working perfectly for many customers. Not 100% for all users everytime because that is a pipe dream, which if you think you'll get to - you are going to be sadly disappointed. It's never existed and never will. The 80/20 rule is still the only way to manage users/organisations. (90/10 if you are VERY lucky).

If you think teams is not powerful you need to think again. With power automate you can remove around ~80% of manual processes at most enterprise organisations. I've done this successfully at 10+ already.

For tools - Advanced eDiscovery, E5 compliance, ATP. The list goes on. There are MS (and 3rd party too, if that's your preference) products to do pretty much everything I've ever worked on in IT in the last 19 years. I should know as I've done LLDs for pretty much all of them.

Sounds like your engineers are stuck in their ways, which will be a hinderance. You need to step into the modern workplace and 2021 (sounds like you are around the ~2010/12 era still). Whether you agree or not, it's the ONLY direction of travel and why these things are happening outside our control.
