stu1965 We're MS first but not MS only. We've been using Box since before OneDrive was really viable, and that's where we're going to stay for a while. There is definitely talk of moving to OD, but given that we have a working solution, we're not going to change immediately—we have users with 10TB of research data and decades of work stored in Box.
I'm mostly a Windows guy at work and mostly a Mac guy at home. Even though we have a family MS365 subscription, I've started paying extra for Dropbox, and I'm slowly migrating my files. OD has corrupted files, and I have no local backup because it breaks Time Machine. For that matter, so does iCloud, which really pisses me off. I invest in local backup because I want local copies, and it's the height of arrogance (or manipulation) for Apple to try to force me into reliance on them. My Spectrum internet is OK, but I'd hardly call it foolproof, and there are times I want backup copies when I'm off the Internet. I hadn't heard about the issues with files being removed from the local .OD folder, but that smells of poor quality control.
WRT OD, I don't know if this is a pissing match between MS and Apple or just MS not devoting necessary resources to their Apple products. Either way, it stinks. Reliable file storage isn't rocket science, and it's a fundamental of any OS. I don't give a rip about most of the bells and whistles they're developing—I just want my files to be available and safe.
