NOW I understand what happened yesterday morning. Sometime between 7:42 and 9a, OneDrive updated and MOVED the directory to /Users/<me>/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.OneDriveStandaloneSuite/OneDrive.noindex/OneDrive without telling me! I'm trying to figure out where all my tax documentation shared with my accountant went and scouring the logs, but finding nothing. Microsoft support told me to update my client and had no clue about the changes!
Oh yes, let's not forget that Commvault didn't know about the changes either. Until I put the path into my backup content, *explicitly* telling it where the directory was, I had no backups.
And here's what OneDrive looks like in Finder. That sure looks like to me they're still in the cloud somewhere.
Apple support thought there was a disk corruption, so I blew everything away and restored it from Time Machine, so this is essentially a clean install of the OS.
