Thank you for at least listening to your users and trying to repair your mistakes. However, my main issue it that I need to keep files locally on a secondary drive.
"Opening files will bring them into your OneDrive folder on the external drive and onto your home drive..."
What is the point in that? The entire purpose of OneDrive on the external drive it to not store the files on my home drive.
I am a developer and fully understand that the API from Apple is dictating what you can do in this regard. But then why use the Apple API in the first place? Create your own solution. For work we use Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive so I currently have no other option, but if this continues I will find an alternative and convince the company to switch. At home I use both MegaSync and Syncthing which offer similar file sync fuctionality and work independently of this CloudDrive home folder non-sense. Please properly fix OneDrive, whatever it takes.
