I built a working paradigm around OneDrive AS IT WORKED. I don't see anything that makes me think these latest changes will replicate the experience I have now. I have most files mirrored, but huge amounts of large photos stored in the 'save space' mode, just in the Cloud. Were I to have updated OneDrive and all the time spent selecting what I want where was undone, I would have been as angry as many here. The new options are NOT going to give me what I use OneDrive for.
Fortunately, I've been slow to adopt Monterey and still have the old version of OneDrive doing what I need. I'll park my software updates right where they are till OneDrive offers not a close experience, not an experience that gets close AFTER destroying the infrastructure I've built, but an easy migration. If OneDrive doesn't give me that, and I'lI have to rebuild everything, I'll look for a new platform.
You Note: at the end of the blog post:
"As per our normal release process, the best way to get all these changes early is to join our Insiders program.
To join, open OneDrive Preferences, click the About tab, and check "Get OneDrive Insider Preview updates.""
NEVER HAPPEN because if I'd worked this way, I'd have turned my life upside down with the last major update.
