What are the consequence of passing this limit?
This is a soft Limit. Therefore you donot get an error, we you reach the limit. It depends of several factors, Laptop factors, Speed, Internet connection, Harddrive speed.
Think about you work nomally, and due to changes of your data, you cannot work anymore. The sync process runs in the background. And if you have too many files, and many users are working and updateing these files, your system cannot handle these requests.
So you are out of sync.
Can someone still edit his files and expect them to get sync to other?
Yes and no, it depends on several dependencies.
Can the user expect the file that he just opens to get sync from other?
You will receive an error
Can a message be shown to user that have too many files that the system cannot accept more or something?
No
If the issue is problematic why is it flying under the radar?
