Do I understand correctly that the Files-on-Demand and the Offline mode works together with the OneDrive sync client on your laptops or pc? From the text and the item description on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, I can deduce that having the OneDrive sync client installed on your device is a prerequisite for this functionality to work. Can you confirm this?
The reason I ask this is because we have (like many other organizations have I suspect) introduced web-only access (via conditional access policies) for non-managed devices. While it is secure, the biggest complaint we get is that while travelling, our employees cannot work on their files as web access is the only allowed way of getting to OneDrive/SharePoint/Teams filesa and the OneDrive sync client is blocked (and rightly so). It would be great if, even without having the OneDrive sync client installed the browser does some (secure) caching, which allows users in that scenario to also continue working on their files, even if they have no internet connection.
Hopefully someone can clarify! And as a sidenote; great new features, they look stunning!
