Most enterprises use GPO folder redirection which will block enabling KFM via GPO.
We have over 3000 machines and ended up going 3rd party using Ivanti Environment Manager to remove folder redirection.
This allowed a staged rollout by moving data back to c:\users while still keeping it in sync with the file server. (Also means the user didn’t have a “please wait” screen while data was copied back with removal of the folder redirection GPO)
All the end user ended up seeing was a “your documents are now protected” and of course they did receive Comms about the change.
Its a great product but the mirgration piece wasn’t really thought out for large customers.
Now we are there we are better aligned with our cloud / modern management first strategy for End User Computing.
