Will the YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR9nK3mnD-OXnJCArRyffmYTnIiCz6RsW be updated with recent videos? The most recent video on the playlist is April 2026.

Question for the July session - in modern Outlook, it's challenging to attach a file from SharePoint Online to an email. Are there plans to improve this experience? Sharing links are great, but external parties tend to prefer attachments.

    Current options are:

    • Browse this computer - only suitable if the SharePoint Online folder is synced locally
    • OneDrive - this breaks down into:
      • Recent - it may show up here, but not always. It's hard to predict.
      • Files - doesn't include SharePoint Online content. OneDrive shortcuts aren't visible
      • Shared with you - content may not have been explicitly shared
      • Groups - not all SharePoint sites are linked to groups
      • Recent Attachments - not relevant for files saved to SharePoint
    • Upload and Share - content is already uploaded
    • Link - doesn't provide any browse option
    • Suggested files - appears to be recently opened, but not recently modified

Sometimes I end up downloading a copy of the file from SharePoint Online to my computer and then using "Browse this computer" to attach it.

It would be great to have an experience consistent with the one in the Office web apps:

I completely agree with you. I have multiple customers who constantly complain about the lack of feature parity, especially when comparing the new Outlook to the classic version. Most of them have actually refused to migrate to the new Outlook simply because attaching files is nowhere near as easy or seamless as it used to be. However, I think this is something the Outlook team is responsible for and not much can be done by the OneDrive team, but I would like to know their stance on this matter as well.
