Rick_Baumhauer it looks like, before the restart, your instance of OneDrive did the Files on Demand upgrade. When you installed it, it behaved like old OneDrive, and I assume it even asked you to activate the kernel extension, and put a real OneDrive folder on the external drive. After a while, when it’s gotten its bearings, it switches to FOD but needs your active input to do so, so if at that time you click on the menu bar icon it will tell you so, and if you click on the button there it will rename your OneDrive folder with a trailing 2 and put the virtual link in its place. But you restarted instead, so now it has the folder and no permission to rename it. So you have to rename it, or delete it, and it will be able to create the structure it needs. That would be my guess by my experience.
