2.24.22 UPDATE: We've been listening to your feedback, and we've made some design changes. We're releasing a new version that addresses the most common themes and makes it easier to achieve the previ...
1. I don't have time for this. 2. OneDrive freezes and I need to force quit. I did install the latest version. 3. Trying to pin a folder (which isn't even the term used by the finder extension), it gives a warning "couldn't communicate with helper program". 4. Clicking on the cloud symbol gives a warning "the file couldn't be opened". It's not a file but a folder, still it says that. 5. For some - almost empty - folders, it did work, but still it's unclear how to tell that a folder is pinned and not just downloaded. 6. This "experience" feels like Vista.
Edit: This is what I did after syncing with the cache didn't work: I uninstalled OneDrive using AppCleaner, delete all cached files that come with it and removed anything that remotely refers to OneDrive. Then I reinstalled OneDrive it from the App Store (direct download doesn't work for some reason), and sync everything again. I needed to repeat these steps a couple of times (alert message: "sorry, can't sync folder, close the app and try again") before getting it right. It takes already two work days, price tag over 2000 EUR and counting, as still not resolved. Totally unacceptable, shows that Microsoft is still Microsoft - "inventor" of Vista, Zune, and Windows Mobile.
Now I'm moving all my data to a different cloud service where it is safe. I had the best experience thus far with Dropbox. In fact, Google Drive showed similar issues when they forced the cloud storage as default. Box is bad too. Maybe technology isn't ready to be in the cloud yet, and at least some users don't want it. For me, the cloud is only a backup and a sharing tool. I need to be able to work fast with many files.
Edit 2: When trying to move away from OneDrive and fetch MY DATA, the above warnings keep appearing: "couldn't communicatie with a finder helper application", "The file couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it." This is my **bleep**ing data, my work, highjacked by clowns, and it's driving me crazy. All paths in my code have changed too. These guys are out of their mind.
Edit 3: I'm now manually downloading my data from OneDrive and moving it to a different cloud service. The macos app does not work, some files and folders can't be move, even though they are flagged as downloaded.
