Without any notice or prompts at all this morning my 50+GB of critical work files were removed from my Mac. I finally traced it back to this Onedrive v22 update. This is NOT OK. I did not update the Onedrive app, it must have done it sneakily. The productivity loss is akin to Cryptolocker! Who thought this was a good idea? I would rather have no Onedrive than something that deletes my files. Why was there no notice or warning?
Now I find that I cannot disable Files On-demand. I need all my files on my machine at all times; I travel a lot and cannot depend on a fast internet connection to download the many gigabytes of files I often need without warning.
What is the product management team smoking? It took years to even get a Onedrive Mac client working properly and now they've ruined it overnight? Extremely poor form, zero stars out of five would not buy again.
