dmalayeri the problem is that the "Download all OneDrive files now" doesn't really work. It doesn't support storing on external drives, for example, and tends to make two copies of everything. The current copy of OneDrive for MacOS is a kludge. More importantly, it works worse than it did before Microsoft decided to make "store all your stuff in the cloud" the default. That was a choice we didn't ask for, don't need, and which resulted in a vastly inferior product that we have a few months ago.
Most damning, Microsoft won't tell us if - or when - they plan to resolve the list of outstanding issues that were caused by the switch to this new storage model. It feels like you're trying to force your customers to change their workflows and business processes to better suit your revenue models, no matter how detrimental those changes are to us. Especially those of us who are unable to obtain internet connections with good upload speeds.
Now, that take could just be my natural cynicism for most things capitalism...but OneDrive didn't have the issues before y'all changed the storage model, and there are multiple examples of cloud storage clients that don't have the troublesome behaviours extant in the market today.
Thank you for your time.
