The Thank You page is often neglected when crafting a form, but a well-designed one can elevate your form to a whole new level. There are hidden features related to the Thank You page in Forms that you might not be aware of. Let me guide you on how to enable these features to save you time and optimize your use of Forms.

Forms settings Respondent experience

Select “Customize thank you message” and write your message in the open box.

Once a form responder submits their answer, the customized message will be displayed on their thank you page.

“Allow respondents to save or edit responses”:

Respondents can choose to save their answers from the Thank You page.

Hide or show “Submit another response”: by default, respondents are allowed to submit another response on the thank you page. However, the form owner has the option to hide this feature if desired.

The respondents will not see “submit another response” on the Thank you page.

“Allow receipt of response after submission”: if selected, respondents are sent an option to view or print their response for future reference.

Once enabled, respondents will have the option to download or print a copy of their response directly from the Thank You page.

We encourage those who respond to a form to create their own! Now, they can easily access Microsoft Forms directly from the Thank You page by clicking on the "get started" icon. This will redirect them to our playground page, where they can explore various features and functionalities to gain a better understanding of how to leverage Forms to achieve their objectives.

Enter playground page from Thank you page

Email address field still needs to be double entered and validated by the form itself.

I wish there was a way to modify someone's response. For example a lot of people fat finger their email address and there is not way that I know if to change it and save it in the responces without downloading a copy

    Hi PNBCC,

Unfortunately in my case I do not want the dynamic look, I want the standard "Thank You" page that you still have.

I have not changed the form settings in several months as it has been live for this time. It appears an update was made in the past few weeks and it has changed the thank you page to this new dynamic one, but it causes a great deal of confusion for users. They no longer see the "Submit another form" option. They need to click the 3 dots in the top right to do so but with the amount of new users we have using this form many of them click elsewhere and end up on a completely different sign in page and not the form itself.

Hi lcarfv1295, can you share what settings or design in Forms you used to get the submission response page you have in your message (copied below). It appears to be more dynamic, possibly animated?

The page does not appear to be the standard "Thank you" submission page one usually gets after completing a Microsoft form like the one I have below, and I would love to be able to incorporate it into my forms.

    Standard Thank you page:

Will you be changing back how users are able to submit another form? It used to be very easy to see after completing a form as it said "Submit another form" right underneath the thank you message (see below highlighted bar, that is where it used to be). Now users need to click the 3 dots to submit another form, but in our business case we have hundreds to thousands of new people filling out this form each week who do not know to press these 3 dots. It has ended up causing lots of problems where users will try to sign in, click out of the form link, click on the "Get Started" at the bottom of the page.

It would be best to put this "submit another form" button back on the page after submitting as it will create far less confusion.

Es wäre ideal, wenn man selber entscheiden kann, ob man diesen Contentblock "Get Started" einblenden will oder nicht. Je nach Formular/Umfrage die man erstellt, ist diese Information mehr verwirrend als hilfreich.

There should be an option to turn off the "Get Started" message. We use Forms at a college department check-in station and students constantly confuse it with "Submit a new response" link after this update.
