Gibbyhome, apologies, I meant to say that handling an email address field was still an outstanding feature request. junyuB this was another item on the previous UserVoice forum, any potential updates on handling the verification of an email address? There used to be a specific 'email address' validation option in Forms Pro that would at least require an "@", all we still need is the simple ability to verify this one field type.
Mark, there's a couple of different approaches that you could take, all dependent upon the number of members in your club and if you're running Forms through a 365 subscription, etc., etc. Personally, I'd only ever use the data in the 'Form' itself as raw backup data. In the simplest format, I'd use the export feature within the Form to export the data to an Excel Spreadsheet. But really you want to be using a simple Power Automate routine to handle the data for you, exporting data into a finished useable format like an Excel Spreadsheet or Lists, storing it where you really want the data, having it easily to hand by you and potentially others. If you've never used Power Automate... I always say, if you can set a Form up, you'll find Power Automate just as easy.
I've helped a few sports clubs out before creating a forum for the club, with communications and collaboration using apps like Teams, automated posting of messages with weather forecasts the day before an event, etc. Handling the 'email address' validation issue; either having a second email address field on the Form with the 'question' text clearly asking the customer to verify the previously entered email address. Or having an initial 'sign up' Form that simply prompts for an email address, then using Power Automate, send an email to the supplied email address with a link to another Form containing the sign up questions. (An unnecessary evil until Forms itself has the feature to validate an email address!) But it works in the vast majority of cases.
If you want to send me a generic example of your sign up Form, just PM me. Equally I can send you back a working example of how the Power Automate process works into a variety of different outputs that may help you.
