Starting with a predefined template is one of the long-running requests from our customers. Today, we are excited to share that Forms introduced various templates based on most frequently asked categories. Moreover, those templates are tailored for different user segmentations, of which Education scenarios are our top focuses. Visit https://forms.office.com to explore more.

Starting from this September, teachers, students, or staff will be able to grab a jump start and customize to save retyping time. Directly on top of Forms Portal Page, Educators will see 4 main template categories:

  • Feedback and evaluation survey
  • Registration and application form
  • Academic research and study
  • Quiz and assessment

IF entering each template category, educators or students will be able to browse and select based on their own requests. To further save time, all templates will have well-matched backgrounds fitting to different theming.

With people using Forms templates more and more, there will be trending templates recommended based on the popularity from all other Educators globally.

IF interested in exploring all templates in one glance, just click “view all” via Forms Portal Page and scroll down to see more when needed.

I was having a go at one of these templates but could not edit to include answers. Another one I worked on had that ability. Is it the case that some templates can and some can't have answers for automatic checking?

I've even been looking for tutorials on the subject to get an answer!

I agree with Mike Williams. Also, there should be a way to validate email address in MS Forms. I believe these are basic requirements.

Please will you make a matching question function for quizzes?

I can see it's not due for release until September for educators, but as a non-educational tenant would love to be able to access some of these new templates.  Any idea when they may go on general release?  Thanks!

I don't see this feature yet and my tenant is on target release for all users.  Is this actually generally available?

  • Yuanquan Thank you. I am surprised that this very very basic issue has not been addressed. On the last project I worked on at Microsoft, our PUM was hauled across the coals by Steve Ballmer for not properly supporting international sufficiency issues as that went against Microsoft contracts with global enterprise customers and government agencies.

  • Mike Williams Thanks for sharing your great feedback as always, we will consider the date formats issue in future improvements.
