Feb 2024 here and just got hit by this Edge update and it kisses the rocky mountain oysters!
Replacing the PDF engine with Adobe's garbage was a HUGE mistake.
The Adobe engine completely ignore font and tab rules set in forms and just does it's own thing.
I had a document I created in Word with Times New Roman. I saved it as PDF and used Foxit PDF Editor to turn it into a form.
Naturally, I want the font in the form boxes to match the font for the rest of the document.
Now that my Edge has updated to the version with the Adobe PDF engine, it completely ignores my font rules.
On top of that, It ignores the tab stop settings in my form. It's basically a two column document with multiple boxes on each side.
Each box contains information relevant to a certain application or account.
Typically I tab my way through each box, filling in the info, and after the last tab in that box, it will go to the next box beside it at the top.
This has worked in Edge before the update. It still works in Chrome, and every other PDF software on the planet, but not this new "Edge with Adobe" malarkey.
Surely Microsoft tested this before pushing it out? Like how did this slip by.
"It's worse. Push it through!"
Edge was my default PDF viewer, but now I no longer have any reason to open Edge at all. Thanks Microsoft.
