This is in answer to your question: "Are you still having stuttering issues? If so, can you let me know what systems you've tried this on please?"
Hi Rick, thanks for following-up.
Alas, the issue I reported previously is still present.
I tested this on two midrange laptops from HP (Envy 13, Intel i7, Nvidia MX250 graphics, external 4K resolution display via DisplayPort 1.2) and Acer (Aspire 5, Intel i5, onboard graphics, external Full HD resolution via HDMI 2.0).
ISSUE: scrolling through a pdf-file is much less smooth with the new Acrobat Viewer:
In Edge, when the "New PDF Viewer" flag (edge://flags/#edge-new-pdf-viewer) is enabled, and therefore the Acrobat Viewer-version is enabled, scrolling through a pdf-file is much less smooth than with the current Skia-based pdf-viewer.
I do not know if any fixes were made, but I'm afraid that the new pdf-engine (Adobe) is not as optimized for smooth scrolling as the previous pdf-engine (Skia). What do your engineers say about this?
(Note: the issue is best checked on a low or midrange pc, because high-performance systems will most likely scroll pdf-files smoothly anyway, regardless of whether the Adobe or Skia pdf-engine is used, simply due to their raw graphics performance).
