I'll jump right to it...this reads like one of the most anti-user focused announcements I have heard from Microsoft. Please tell us, where is the win here for your users? Those customers that want Adobe's PDF Engine are already free to choose it, as well any extension Adobe may offer. The fact that this is not hidden behind a feature flag and giving the Adobe/Acrobat logo visual presence on all PDF documents is pure lunacy in my opinion.
What about enterprise and public sector scenarios here? We developed web applications with embedded iframes to documents to display to users. Those document would include the Adobe's visual or Adobe-specific toolbars, even through we aren't using any Adobe technology. Really?
I won't even comment on the historical irony here with Adobe Flash plug-in. I understand business relationships are part of every company but this one seems skewed with Edge customers really losing the ability of choice and Adobe gaining Edge users as a solicitation base.
