Hi Jim,


Thanks for this artificial, But currently we are planning to automate the DB Migration to SQL Server on Azure VM using PowerShell . 

 

Can we migrate the SQL Server database to SQLVM ?  Currently I am able to create DMS project using PowerShell . I am getting the below error when creating the task 

 

DMS API Error The task type "Migrate.SqlServer.SqlDb" is not allowed for source platform "SQL" and target platform "SQLVM". 

 

Below are my questions

1. Can we migrate SQL server DB to SQL On Azure VM through DMS PowerShell  ?

2. I understand Migration to Azure SQL and SQL Mi are possible. Is my understanding is correct  ?

3. I Understand that we are not able to create task type Migrate.SqlServer.SqlServer throught powershell . Is my understating is correct ?
